The Tischler Klezmer Orchestra

Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) presents The Tischler Klezmer Orchestra on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at 2 pm. From its founding over 20 years ago, saxophonist extraordinaire and local musical raconteur Norman Tischler was the director of the Workmen’s Circle Klezmer Orchestra. Upon Norman’s unexpected passing in 2018, the musicians rechartered the ensemble as The Tischler Klezmer Orchestra, featuring Moss Stanley. The TKO continues the mission of preserving klezmer music- reaching out to audiences through live performances and helping local musicians learn klezmer repertoire.

The program will take place at HeARTland, 8187 Camp Road Homerville, Ohio, 44235. Please bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy this concert by pond. In the event of rain, the concert will take place at the Homerville United Methodist Church, 8964 Spencer Road, Homerville, Ohio, 44235. Tickets are $12 in advance; $15 at the door.

For more information call 419-853-6016.

Advance Tickets: $12

At the Door: $15

About Moss Stanley (Band Leader, Piano/Keyboards)

Moss Stanley was born in London, England, to a musical Jewish family. His uncle Lou Hoffman was the cantor at Southgate London Orthodox Synagogue for 30 years, so Moss’s musical roots began with klezmer music, then blues, rock and roll and jazz.

His band, Nitebridge, is Cleveland’s top society dance band (Nitebridgeband.com) and he plays piano at many fine venues and restaurants.

When Norman Tischler passed away, Moss was the perfect fit to keep the tradition of klezmer music alive as Norman would wish. To learn more about other TKO members, visit https://clevelandtko.com/.
