Miki Saito: Traditional Music of Japan

Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) continues its free Concert in the Country series with musician Miki Saito on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Homerville United Methodist Church, 9097 Spencer Road, Homerville, Ohio, 44235.

Born and raised in Yokohama, Japan, Miki will share her Japanese heritage through her music. She will introduce and perform a Japanese 13-string instrument called koto, a bamboo flute called shinobue and sing traditional Japanese songs. She will also sprinkle fun games from Japan in which the audience members can participate.

About Miki Saito

Miki Saito is a Japanese koto and shinobue player, composer, vocalist, pianist and teacher. Born and raised in Yokohama, Japan, Miki began studying piano at the tender age of four and was accepted to a music conservatory at age twelve. At age nineteen, she came to the United States to broaden her horizons and continued studying music. Miki has performed Japanese music in the Cleveland Asian Festival, the 70th Annual One World Day at Cleveland Cultural Gardens and her live stream concert with ORMACO during the pandemic surpassed 1.2K views.
