Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) continues its free Concerts in the Country concert series with Cleveland electronic and upright bass musician Jeffrey Slater at 2 pm on October 9, 2022. In a program entitled “Jazz Bass and Beyond”, Jeffrey will play and discuss the bass guitar and double bass’ role in music and history. Selections will range from classical to jazz to the modern era.

The program will take place at HeARTland, 8187 Camp Road Homerville, Ohio, 44235. In the event of rain, the concert will take place at the Homerville United Methodist Church, 8964 Spencer Road, Homerville, Ohio, 44235.

About The Artist

Jeff Slater earned his bachelor’s of music in music theory and french horn at Baldwin-Wallace University and did master’s work in classical and jazz music theory at the University of Wisconsin at Madison and Truman State University. Jeff plays plays doubleboth electric and upright bass and is well versed in all styles of jazz, R&B, rock, and world music.
