Sunday, November 21st, 2021 2:00 – 3:00 pm

Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) and the Wadsworth Public Library present Dr. Janet Becker in a holiday flute program on November 21, 2021, at 2 pm at the Wadsworth Public Library, 132 Broad Street, Wadsworth, OH 44281. Winter holidays all invoke the power of light over darkness, most notably in the Winter Solstice celebrating the longest night, but also Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanza, and Diwali. The use of light and candles in rituals is celebrated in stories, songs and music. The flute, as one of the world’s oldest instruments, has been used to invoke the light throughout history, and Janet Becker will provide a variety of flutes to demonstrate the variety of sounds the season can provide.

The program is free, but reservations are recommended by registering online here or calling 419-853-6016 .
