Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) and the Wadsworth Public Library continue their Sunday Live at the Library concerts with Norton-based flutist Janet Becker on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 2 pm at the Wadsworth Public Library, 132 Broad Street, Wadsworth, Ohio 44281. Dr. Becker will present a program of Celtic music, which will include love songs, lullabies, laments and dances. She will perform on modern and traditional flutes.

About Janet Becker
Flutist Janet Becker is an active performer and recitalist on both modern flute and the Baroque traverso. She frequently performs with several chamber music ensembles. Dr. Becker has taught at The University of Akron, Malone College, The Cleveland Institute of Music, and The Cleveland Music School Settlement. She currently teaches a large class of students at her own studio, The Greenwich Rd. Flute Studio in Norton, Ohio. Over the past thirty-five years, she has taught hundreds of students, from beginners through college level, sending many on to music degrees and scholarships.
Dr. Becker received her musical training at The Cleveland Institute of Music (B.M.), The University of Akron (M.M.) and Northwestern University (D.M.). Her teachers included Maurice Sharp, George Pope, Walfrid Kujala, Trudy Kane and John Rautenberg on modern flute; and Sandra Miller, Richard Graef, Christopher Krueger and Stephen Schwartz on traverso. She has performed in masterclasses for Paula Robison, Claude Monteux, and Trevor Wye on modern flute, and Barthold Kuijken, Steven Preston, Barbara Kallaur and Mindy Rosenfeld on traverso.
