About the Musicians
A Wadsworth native, Emily Aleta Dorland began singing at a young age. Her family cultivated her love of music, and her singing was further enhanced through participation in choirs and musical theater productions in school and community theatre. The cherished music of the ’20s, ’30s, ’40s, and ’50s has always held a special place in Emily’s heart. This love led her to develop Sentimental Melodies Vintage Vocal music programs. Emily currently provides over 375 reminiscent style programs each year for groups throughout Ohio. She is also the female vocalist for the Massillon Music Memories Orchestra.
For over 20 years, Emily has been an activity director in senior long-term care. A nationally accredited activity director with a specialty in memory care and certified dementia practitioner, Emily knows how to effectively engage audiences with varying abilities and cognitive challenges using various approaches such as music that is familiar and meaningful.
