Jazz under the Stars: Barbara Rosene

Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) continues its summer Jazz under the Stars concert series with Barbara Rosene on August 23, 2025 at 7 pm. She will be performing with a jazz trio comprised of Rock Wehrmann, piano; Aidan Plank, bass; and Brad Wagner, drums.
Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and picnics to enjoy this free concert. In the event of rain, the concert will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 317 E. Liberty Street, Medina, OH 44256. For more information, call 419-853-6016.
About Barbara Rosene
Ohio native, Barbara Rosene has built an unequalled reputation for interpreting the great music of the 1920s through the 40s. Will Friedwald, of the “Wall Street Journal” has written: “No one evokes more vividly the music of the great singers of the 1920s than Barbara Rosene.”
She has shared stages with jazz icons, performing internationally with The Harry James Orchestra, with the late Les Paul at New York’s Iridium Jazz Club, with Vince Giordano and The Nighthawks, with the Woody Allen Band, at as well as directing her own New Yorkers, and as guest artist with orchestras and in festivals across the world. She has played such venues as The Iridium, Lincoln Center’s Rose Hall, Birdland, Blues Alley, The Jazz Corner, The Montreal Jazz Festival and Jazz Amarinois.
Barbara has been featured on Judy Carmichael’s NPR program, “Jazz Inspired”, and on NPR’s “Hot Jazz Saturday Night” with Rob Bamberger. She is the recipient of the Backstage Bistro Award, and is included in Scott Yanow’s book, “Great Jazz Singers.”
