Jazz under the Stars: Eric Everett Jazz: Elation!

Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) continues its summer Jazz under the Stars concert series with Eric Everett, Jazz: Elation! on July 5, 2025 at 7 pm.
Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and picnics to enjoy this free concert. In the event of rain, the concert will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 317 E. Liberty Street, Medina, OH 44256. For more information, call 419-853-6016.
Nancy Redd, vocals & flute, began singing at the age of four and began her classical training in flute by the age of nine. While in high school and college, she studied music at the Cleveland Institute of Music and Baldwin Wallace College. Nancy has performed at local venues, such as Wade Oval, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and The Cleveland Public Library Women in Jazz Series. Additionally, Nancy has opened for Grammy® award-winning artist, Solomon Burke, and the Four Tops. She is also a song writer and actress appearing in local television commercials. However, it is her mission to keep “real jazz” alive and to maintain the class and integrity of the genre.
Duncan Crooks, Piano, is a composer who has been playing professionally for over 30 years, beginning as a teenager in R&B/Fusion bands in Cleveland, Ohio, and Los Angeles, California. Originally from Cleveland Heights, Duncan went on to Capital University in Columbus to study music and arranging. While at Capital, Duncan was the winner of the Diversified Music Publishers Award for “Best College-level Composer.” From there, he moved to Boston to attend the Berklee College of Music where he graduated summa cum laude. Over the years, Duncan has continuously played with the finest jazz musicians and vocalists Northeast Ohio has to offer, in addition to touring with The Glenn Miller Orchestra, and performing with Kenny Burrell, Nick Brignola, and other luminaries.
Lenny Gray, Bass, has been a professional bassist for over 30 years. Although most of his experience is with local bands he has shared the stage with such national musicians as Benny Bailey, Victory Wooten, Roy “Future Man” Wooten, Howard Levy, Pharez Whitted and jazz trombonist Slide Hampton. Lenny has been teaching bass guitar for 7 years. He enjoys sharing his knowledge of the instrument and watching students grow. Lenny is pleased to be among the excellent teaching staff at Stebal Drums.
Eric Everett, Drums, has four decades of drumming experience, studying privately at Baldwin Wallace Conservatory and performing in Case Western Reserve University’s small group Jazz and Big Band ensembles. Eric leads the “Firelands Trio” and “Elation” R&B band, and performs as a sideman with the Cliff Habian Trio and George Foley Quartet. Eric has performed at Nighttown, Bop Stop, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and more. Eric Everett Jazz Productions is a member of Cleveland Music Group. Hichem Ferrah, Guitar, brings elegance and a rich sense of melody, thanks to his native Algerian musical experience. Hichem is a sought-after musician in the Greater Cleveland area, and regularly performs with Erin Nicole Neal, Latin Jazz Players.
