Mark Alan Wade (Hammered Dulcimer): Old Time American Music, English and Irish Folk

Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) and the Wadsworth Public Library begin their 2023 Live at the Library concerts with Akron-based musician Mark Alan Wade on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at 2 pm at the Wadsworth Public Library, 132 Broad Street, Wadsworth, OH 44281. Mark will showcase the hammered and mountain dulcimer and their unique histories. Selections will include traditional “old time” American music, as well as English and Irish folk music. Learn about these interesting and beautiful instruments while listening to a national champion on his instrument.

Mark Alan Wade is a freelance musician based out of Northeast Ohio. An orchestral trumpeter by trade, Mark has a doctorate in Trumpet Performance from the Ohio State University and has played in a dozen orchestras in the US and in Europe. Mark is also a National Hammered Dulcimer champion and performs all over the world on hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, trumpet, piano, guitar and penny whistles.
