About Barbara Knight

Barbara Knight graduated from Kent State University with a degree in music, and shortly afterward she joined the Harry Hershey Orchestra.  During her 13 years with the band, she was featured in the hit shows “Stompin’ at the State” and “Stompin’ at La Ronde” in Miami Beach.

Barbara was the female vocalist with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra for 17 years.  During that time, she recorded a compact disc with the band entitled “Night and Day”.  She now fronts her own quintet, playing jazz venues such as Cain Park and Beau’s on the River.  She is also a frequent guest artist with the Cleveland Pops, the Famous Jazz Orchestra and the Harry James Orchestra.

Barbara recorded a quintet CD in 2007 entitled “Angel Eyes”. The CD garnered the attention of L.A. jazz critic Scott Yanow, who recognized Barbara in his book “Jazz Singers, the Ultimate Guide”.
