WAYS TO GIVE

ORMACO is a mostly volunteer organization. We are like Public Television and Radio- our programs are made possible from viewers and listeners like you!

There are many ways that you can contribute to this worthy cause. These include, but are not limited to:

Individual or Corporate Cash/Check Donation

By simply contributing cash or writing a check to ORMACO, the money goes directly to the outreach programs.

Matching Gifts

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. Check to see if your company matches gifts.

ORMACO Endowment Fund

ORMACO has created an endowment fund at the Akron Community Foundation so we have permanent, consistent funding to do good work in our community forever. Help us continue our mission of making music, art, and culture accessible to the entire community by donating to the ORMACO Endowment Fund at www.akroncf.org/give/ORMACOFund. For more information, call 330-722-2541.

Please let us know if you would like to allocate your donation to a specific outreach program.

Pledges

Pledges enable a donor to plan a personal giving program that is both convenient and tax-wise. A pledge may enable a donor to consider a more significant gift that would have otherwise been possible. Terms for payment on pledges are flexible and at the option of the donor.

Planned Gifts

In certain instances, it may be preferable from an estate, financial, and tax planning perspective to consider long-term gift planning as the best way to make a gift. This can be accomplished through various gift instruments, such as charitable remainder trusts, gift annuities, charitable lead trusts, and bequests.

Gifts in Memoriam/Gifts in Honor of

Honoring a family member, friend, colleague, classmate, or faculty member with a gift is a touching way to pay tribute to that loved one. Please call 330-722-2541 or send an e-mail to tsigel@ormaco.org to make arrangements for setting up a fund or contributing to an area or program of interest to the person you are remembering or honoring.

Gifts in Kind

We always appreciate alternatives to monetary gifts such as instruments, music, donation of a venue or private home for a fundraiser, or tickets that allow underserved children to see a live professional show at Playhouse Square. Call 330-722-2541 or send an e-mail to tsigel@ormaco.org for information on making such a donation.

Securities

Securities may be made as outright gifts or as a payment on a pledge. Stock certificates may be reassigned directly to ORMACO, Inc. or may be transferred through the donor’s broker. The mean market value on the date of the transfer will determine the value of the gift for tax purposes. It is best to consult with your tax advisor before you make such a transaction.  For general questions on securities, call 330-722-2541 or send an e-mail to tsigel@ormaco.org.

Gifts of appreciated securities may be tax deductible, up to 30 percent of your adjusted gross income. The deduction is based on the full fair market value, and capital gains tax is not due when the stock is transferred to the university.

The Internal Revenue Service has designated ORMACO, Inc. a tax-exempt charitable organization under IRS Section 501(c)3.
