World Tour of Music Residencies

Twice a year, ORMACO presents high-caliber, accessible international artists to the community through school, library and civic outreach programs to help integrate the arts into a broader social, cultural, political and historical framework; and encourage communities to explore issues and concerns of diverse cultures.

The program aims to broaden communities’ positive exposure to different cultures, help them recognize and respect differences and similarities between themselves and persons of other cultures and strengthen their own cultural identity. The week culminates in a concert for the community.

Bus Trips, Theater and Cultural Outings

Hop on the bus and leave the driving to us!”

Excursions include trips to Playhouse Square to enjoy touring Broadway shows, day-trips to fun destinations and overnight red-eye trips to places such as New York City,  Chicago, Pittsburgh & Buffalo.

With round-trip transportation, trivia quizzes, meals and/or snacks and beverages included (a choice of bottled water, canned soda or a serving of wine) – you will not be disappointed.

Jazz (and Opera) Under the Stars

Each summer since 2011, ORMACO, through grants and sponsorships, has been bringing free professional jazz to the Gazebo stage on Medina’s Historic Square.

Music lovers bring picnics and lawn chairs to enjoy top regional jazz ensembles and soloists from the Cleveland Opera Theater.

Jazz Under the Stars is now known as a preeminent Ohio jazz festival, attracting people from near and far. With the addition of Cleveland Opera Theater in 2016, Medina County audiences can experience, explore and engage in opera.

Educational Live-Stream Concerts

Janet Becker EventOur free monthly Sunday afternoon Wadsworth Library concerts have been suspended due to COVID-19. You can still enjoy these as live-stream concerts on the ORMACO Facebook page. Once the pandemic is behind us we are looking for a new live venue for these concerts. We welcome your suggestions of where we might be able to do this.

These events feature local artists like Flutist Janet Becker. Besides performing musical selections, the artists tell stories and lead interactive discussions about  the history and nature of their craft.
